Future events will be posted here

We are pleased to share with you great results from the first two events of this year.

In May, 2022, we held our 9th Annual Cinco de Mayo Fundraiser in Sarasota, Florida. CdK President and co-founder Drew Vogt welcomed long-time donors as well as new ones to the slick and spacious venue of the Arts Advocates Gallery.

The freedom and celebration of Cinco de Mayo set the tone with the music and menu, as did visiting wool artists of the Martinez Family (Teotitlan del Valle, Oaxaca, Mexico) and friends who attended. The silent auction of 25 items was a HUGE success, and included 10 items hand carried from Oaxaca. Attendees were given an annual update on recent successes of graduates and new students.

Succe$$: This fundraiser raised more than any event we’ve ever had! Thanks to the generosity of many donors, we are now able to expand our program to continue to meet the needs of our growing student body. We will also be adding more programs and classes that prepare our youth for independence and living freely. Thank you to all donors, and volunteers who made this event possible.

Also in May, 2022, we held a Piano Recital featuring our music student, Jose Manuel Cruz, who had just completed his first year at the prestigious Manhattan School of Music, New York, NY. Jose Manuel is a native of Oaxaca, Mexico. While Casa de Kids is a non-religious organization, the historic Church of the Transfiguration hosted Jose’s first solo recital, and a lovely reception. The Church welcomed Drew and Jose with open arms. Thanks to their generosity the event was a beautiful success. It is available for viewing at this link: Click here
