Marlen López Hernández joined the programme in January 2025. She is in her fourth year of her Bachelor’s degree in gastronomy at the Instituto Tecnológico Superior de Teposcolula. She tells us that she experienced moments of great anxiety due to the economic situation her family was going through and that it was very difficult for her to study what she wanted to study. Fortunately, with the support of Casa de Kids, she was able to make her dream come true and now expects to graduate in June 2027.
Marlen loves learning about other cultures and imagines herself travelling and working in other countries. She hopes to visit Italy and Switzerland at some point in her life. She is very good at crocheting so she has started selling clothes, dolls, key rings and other accessories through her Instagram profile “Rosa en Babel”. She speaks a little English and French. She has told us that she is deeply grateful to the donors and to Casa de Kids for the support they have given her, and she does not hesitate to recommend the programme to other students she meets.
